Krotos Audio: Runtime Vocal Processing and Procedural Effects in WWise |

Vibe Avenue, leading music and audio provider based in Montreal, will present real life challenges and solutions in interactive/adaptive/generative music. With over 20 games shipped during the last five years, the vast majority of them using Wwise, Vibe Avenue's lead composers FX Dupas and Mathieu Lavoie have been trying to push the limits of dynamic music in games in very different situations. From non-linear story driven games to motion comics, from retro games to open worlds, selected examples will propose an in-depth look into the different Wwise projects to demonstrate how the music systems were designed and implemented, discussing their respective strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately opening a reflection on the possibilities and limits of the Wwises Interactive Music System in its current state.

As games grow in size and complexity, interest in runtime DSP and effects is growing. For both AR/VR and traditional games, effects present flexible ways of dealing with limited resources, and offer exciting new creative possibilities, with low CPU and memory impact. Krotos will present their Dehumaniser and Reformer technologies for use at runtime, using Wwise, and demonstrate how they can inspire new approaches in game audio.
